ZA Cycle - Important Customer Update
To our valued customers and supporters, It is with deep regret that we must announce a temporary pause of ZA Cycle operations in South Africa.
Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the international air freight routes that we rely on to deliver products quickly to our customers have been severely disrupted.
Our logistics model was designed to ensure that customers could receive their orders within approximately one week, using major air freight hubs located in the Middle East.
Unfortunately, these routes are currently unavailable.
At this time, the only alternative shipping options available to us would either:
- take 2–3 months for delivery, or
- increase shipping costs between 4 and 10 times the normal price.
Neither of these options meets the service standard that ZA Cycle was built upon, nor would it be fair to our customers to pass such extreme costs on to you.
Because of this situation, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause all ZA Cycle operations within South Africa while we reassess our logistics strategy.
Orders Currently in Progress:
All customer orders that have not yet been delivered will be fully refunded.
This includes:
- Orders that were waiting to ship
- Orders currently in transit that are now stuck within Middle Eastern logistics hubs.
Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible, and affected customers will receive communication directly from us.
What Happens Next:
Please know that this decision was not made lightly. We are actively searching for new shipping solutions that will allow us to continue offering the high-performance cycling components at fair and affordable prices that ZA Cycle was founded on.
We have also evaluated holding stock within South Africa, but unfortunately the insurance costs, warehousing fees, and additional logistics expenses would significantly increase product prices for customers. Furthermore, it could take 2 months to ship this stock at which point the conflict could be over and we could return to normality. At this time, this option would contradict our commitment to providing high-quality components at accessible prices.
